I was in town today working on my book – Active Enlightenment – at a cafe, not unlike J.K. Rowling when she was writing Harry Potter! I was also multi tasking and putting a list of things-to-do together, mostly to do with the life coaching seminars I am going to launch in the new year (2010 is going to Rock!).

So there I was, my thoughts filled with coaching ideas and questions as to where to run them, advertisement etc etc. When I realised that my caffeine intake of the day had reached its max. Fortunately my folder was brimmed with ideas and questions to go and seek answers to and off I went in search of a few of those answers.

One of which was to find out what unlimited txts means on my phone. I found out that this seems to be a massive amount and so I am considering using my own phone for the inspire-txts project.

Anyway, there I am wandering around town – always seeking synchronicities – when lo and behold there is this lady walking some feet in front of me with a t-shirt on saying “Enterprise Coaching”. I was of course gob-smacked and thought “Nah – must be something to do with the bus kind of coaches”.

Still, if you know me – that wasn’t going to stop me enquiring – so I speeded up my steps and “bumped” the lady in the t-shirt and asked her what it was all about. Wow! What a coincidence (yeah right) it was all about start-up businesses, coaching people into work and all the stuff, quite related to what I do.

So, I toodled off with this lady, whose name incidentally was Bev, to the Gateway building in Warrington and spent the a nice couple of hours networking and sharing ideas and possibilities with the people that were there. Here is a link – Enterprise Coaching – I found on the web about the event.

Who was there?

  • Well, there was a little (Priestley) college start-up biz, they do personalised kit, check out there site here: PersonalisedPrintz (I went to Priestley College myself many moons ago!)
  • There was a lady called Sarah who was promoting “the diploma” which is a new nationwide qualification for 14-19 year olds. Designed by Employers for Employers!
  • A very enthusiastic chap by the name of Chris who was looking to launch a new local “your local” magazine, hope to be able to work with him – writing a personal development column! Hurry up with the website Chris :-)
  • And then there was Tricia from the Blue Orchid Management Consultants. Advising start-ups and such like. Check out the Blue Orchid site.
  • Bev, who was the initial person I ‘bumped’ into hails from A4E – whose tag line “Improving People’s Lives” is worth mentioning.
  • And Rob who is on the Enterprise Coaching leaflet and is based at the gateway in Warrington (potential here for using the gateway to do coaching seminars).

Plenty of juicy contacts to network and explore. Lets see what can be done!

Well? Is this a lesson in focus=synchronicity or am I in cloud cuckoo land? Whatever the answer. I’d rather be here than elsewhere.

Hi all,

I have just returned from a 3 day seminar in London. It was titled Break through success or BTS for short. The event was from Friday to Sunday and about 11 hours per day with a hour lunch and a couple of fifteen minute coffee breaks.

The tickets for these events are free! So what you doing sittin’ on your butt? Go grab one!

This sounds quite intense and it was. However the structure of the event and the occasional shared shoulder massages, high fives and hugging that went on was surprisingly energetic when I got over the initial British reticence to this Americanism.

The format of the days was as follows, a couple of hours of talk, exercises and high-fives followed by a 10 minute sales pitch for one or other of the courses that Chris Howard offers. This was followed by a break and then the same process again.

I didn’t really mind the sales talk – partly because I expected it, but mostly because he (Chris) was right in that if you are committed to the goals then you should attend the courses no matter what the cost, and if you aren’t signing up for them that you have to question your commitment.

Even I had to admit at the end of the seminar – why am I not enrolling on the courses?

If you like, the whole event was a set of tasters for content that is deeply covered in the courses. I have to say though, it is worth going if nothing else for the fire-up that you get from being in the company of around 1000 people who want to make of themselves all that they can be.

One day later and I am still excited from the event – or is that due to the caffeine in my system? What ever it is attributed to I’m glad I went as it has renewed and refreshed my zeal for engaging that which it has been uncomfortable to grapple with of late.

As you will see from Chris Howard’s site, his take on personal development comes from the NLP arena. As I listened to him I found much of the material consisted of Tony Robbins like material. One might take this as a criticism – I do not however, since I myself take from him too – model the best isn’t that what both Chris and Tony eshew?

At the event one gets a workbook to work in and this provides a good method of keeping notes and logging any personal findings that one comes up with. For example, and surprisingly, there are several visualisations that are practiced on the event. These are used to discover and recover from blocks that exist in your psyche. Whether this be due to limiting decisions and thoughts or negative emotions. I actually found these (visualisations) to be quite effective and, interestingly brought up some surprising stuff for myself.

For example: one of my beliefs “was” that I am not good enough…In the meditation/visualisation I traversed the time stream and landed at an event that happened when I was at college many year ago. I recalled receiving my marks from a maths test and the teacher telling me that I would not amount to anything – wow! where in the world did that come out from?

As I said these Trans-derivational Searches where very revealing visualisations.

Here are some phrases that I noted during the three days:

  • Paint the mosaic of the life you have chosen
  • Reality is created by validation
  • Fear is a feather that binds you to darkness
  • Its all about Clarity
  • I would rather have the whole world against me than my own soul
  • Perception is projection
  • Need a resource? be resource-ful
  • FEAR - False Evidence Appearing Real

Here are some acronyms that came up – please be aware that some or all of these maybe Trade Marked by Chris Howard so don’t be abusing them…

CREATE = Concise, Realistic, Ecological, As if now, Timed, End step

Which sounds a bit like the SMART acronym (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Relevant, Time bound)

Another one that is relevant to Chris’s work is the basis long term change:

Decide, Commit, Act, Focus, Supportive Environment, Ferocious Curiosity

Again those who know Tony’s work will recognise somethings here.

I was happy to note the conversations my friend Lorraine and I had on the journey to London and throughout the day were synchronistically covered in the topics that were mentioned on stage.

One particularly rare synchronistic event was where I was telling Lorraine about the tv character called MacGyver who in his adventures solved problems and escaped traps by utilisation materials at hand rather than take tool kits or gadgets around with him. Then some hours later Chris mentioned the same character on stage, noting that problems can be solved by using the resources we have at hand.

On the whole the event was (or can be used as) a BIG wake up call. Which is what I have used it as. Would I go again? Yes. Now all that remains to be seen is whether I remain committed to the goals, mindset and new BS (Belief System) – this blog will tell all!

Kal

Ps – An absolutely MASSIVE thank you to Lorraine who invited me along for this refreshing journey. You Rock!!! I owe ya big time!

Pps – There were a few books mentioned but I will put them in the book review section once I have read them.

Ever since its inception about a year and a half ago this blog has been patchy at best. For the most part this has been due to life taking odd and unpredictable routes. However today I feel it is time to rejuvenate and refresh it and begin anew.

Is this because life has calmed down? No, on the contrary life is still being its loveable and unpredictable self (I would have it no other way). No, it is more the case that I have finally got to the crest of the wave and am now surfing its edge rather than floundering in its wake.

If you want to know how I got to the crest of the wave you will have to visit the Hedge Druid site where my friend and I relate our wonderings and wanderings in the world of mysterious.

What does riding of the crest mean? For one thing there will be plenty of activity on this blog and my related sites:

  • Healing Books – the place where you can buy the books on complementary therapies I have written.
  • Original Purity – which outlines the work that I am involved in and how you can contact me for such.
  • Hedge Druid – officially (and happily) I am the side-kick on this project/journey however I hope to be profiling i.e. putting my posts on this site more frequently

Ok, so what does this exactly mean? To begin I will be refreshing and spell checking the first of those two sites! Blowing the dust of them so to speak.

I love the phoenix fable, which is resplendent in all my works and so it will be that Harmony will be resurrected from the ashes and take flight again.

At its height in 2006 Harmony had over 5000 members (whose contributions have been spread across the world in my books).

Since that time and this I have learned a thing or two and hope to make Harmony a truly exceptional experience.

Another project that will be treated with the phoenix dust is the inspire cards project. It is a project that is dear to my heart because it was first introduced in the phoenix programme many years ago and has always been recommended by students as an excellent life affecter.

A related project that has been on my mind since the world of txting has come to life is the inspire txt project. Always suffering from lack of funding I am going to inject some funds and time into this as a dedication to my dear mum who passed into spirit this year.

Drop me a note or leave a comment below if you wish to be added to Harmony mailing programme or are interested in any of the above projects.

Gosh, with all of the above going on and with the other work that I am doing too (see Original Purity) it is surprising that I get time to work on the books (yes that’s plural) that I am writing. The completion of the first of these, Active Enlightenment has been moved to summer next year i.e. 2010.

Other books that I am working on, off and on, are (working titles):

  • Radical Enlightenment
  • SPELL
  • Cleansing Home Energies
  • Islam – the fountain of well being

Hmmm I bet that title list brings up several questions? May I direct you to the comments box below.

Ok, the title of this post has the word intent in it for a reason. Because that is what it is a statement of intent. I.e. I intend the above into existence. How can we measure the success of my intention? Simple – don’t measure success at all! All that matters is that I try.

Never let any person’s endeavours to rise from the ashes of the phoenix be belittled by another, whether they judge such endeavoursto be trifling or monumental. For one persons Everest is another’s Molehill and vice-versa. Ever has it been thus.

So! A stave has been hammered into the ground, a statement, bold and courageous, has been uttered. The accompanying orchestra has been hired and the audience assembled…let it begin!
